This collection consists of a single, three-page typescript reminiscence by Caroline Updegraff Parker, relating the experiences of her brother William W. Updegraff and her own family in Osawatomie, Kansas from 1855 to 1869, as well as a photograph of her brother William later in his life.

"The Migrations of John B. Kelso"

Overview "The Migrations of John B. Kelso" is a 29-page typed transcription of Kelso's account of migrating to the American west, working, and looking for a good place to settle. He moved from Indiana to Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, and then to Oregon and Washington between 1853 and 1877. He was in territorial Kansas in the 1850s and became involved in the free state/pro-slavery violence, serving on the free state side.
